Donation for: Hess, James H. and Margaret Ann Community Fund
Jim and Margaret Ann (McBurney) Hess were both born and raised in Ashland and became Charter Founding Members of the Ashland County Community Foundation in 1996. Jim served on the original ACCF Board of Trustees, including several years as Treasurer, and as Chairman in 2004-2006. He has held several board leadership positions with organizations in the community, including Park Street Brethren Church, Lifework Leadership at Ashland Theological Seminary, and as a member of the Board of Trustees at Ashland University. Margaret Ann is a GEM donor and Founding Steering Committee member of ACCF’s Women’s Fund, served on ACCF’s IMPACT Youth Council Advisory Committee, and is involved with the AU Women’s Auxiliary. The Hesses established a Donor Advised Fund through ACCF in 2011. “Our Donor Advised Fund will be used to support local Christian organizations, especially in the areas of leadership development and marketplace ministry,” Jim says. Margaret Ann adds, “We are glad that we can direct the distribution from the Fund on an annual basis so that immediate impact and pressing needs can be addressed.” Through the James H. and Margaret Ann Hess Community Grants Fund, Jim and M.A. are able to direct an annual distribution to the 501(c)(3) organization(s) of their choice. The principal remains at the Ashland County Community Foundation for generations to come.
